April 15th - Three Island Tour

We started our island tour in Oban. The ferry was bringing us to the island of Mull where a bus collected us to bring us all over the island to the next ferry port.





Our first proper stop was at the island of Staffa which is the equivalent to the Giant's causeway in Northern Ireland. It was supposed to be from here that the street was built to bring one giant to the other...






We hopped back on board and went over to Iona to visit the famous abbey and close by the nunnery. The abbey was nice, there were beautiful stone carvings in the columns. Some years ago, some Catholics had obviously met to rebuilt the ruinous abbey and they are still living in their community almost like monks....
