My new house

Since June 1st I have moved to my new place in Sandymount. The place is close to the sea, a nice 4 bedroom house and I'm sharing with 3 Irish girls. It is awesome! Here you can find some views...

The street side (the yellow one in the middle) and the garden side with views of the garden...

Martime Festival Dublin - May 2009

While poor Natasha had to stay at home, sleeping or sitting in front of the TV to forget the pain caused by mumps, Helen and me headed off to the festival to get some sun...
We found German specialties...

.... the garda in strange uniform...

... ships....

... more food from Belgium and Holland...

... and more ships.

Flower Impressions

If anybody has a green thumb, then it is my mother. The garden especially around spring time is full of blossoming flowers, and so is our winter garden. I couldn't resist and so I took my camera and off I went to chase some flowers...

And here some expressions from the winter garden....

April 18th - Rosslyn Chapel

Our last stop on our 2-weeks-holiday was Rosslyn chapel. After having brought the car back to the airport and stored most of our luggage at the airport, we returned to town and took a bus to Rosslyn. The chapel was over-crowded, but indeed the most beautiful chapel of that time I have seen before. All columns, the ceiling and parts of the wall were full with stories carved out of stone. We tried to figure out whether or not there had been color on the walls, and the tour guides declined. More stone figures were all around the roof and the building itself.

April 17th - Glasgow

Glasgow might be a city with not too many old buildings, but the few Art Deco Style buildings we saw were quite nice. Not to mention the cathedral and the nearby Nekropolis overlooking the town!

We also visited Kelvingrove; the concept of this museum seems to be to attract children which was great, because we could touch a lot of things and take pictures. However, some of the exhibitions were not easy to understand; it looked like a collector's room....

We then headed to the Hunterian Gallery and Museum, one full of exhibits from science, medicine and different cultures, the other with pictures. We then walked through the city, decided to head back to our hotel room and chill, before being forced to sleep in a hostel for the last night of our trip.
