Trip to London - Jan 11th 09

Sunday was our declared touristic day. We started off with St Paul's cathedral (which is quite hard to fit into a picture!)...

Nearby the Millennium Bridge brings you to the Tate Britain and, crossing the river, allows you a wonderful view back at the town. You even can see the Tower Bridge in the far distance!

Our next stop brought us to... the Tower Bridge. An amazing construction!

Our next stop was (again) Temple Church. This time we were definitely luckier than I was last time. It is quite hard to find. Anyhow, because it was Sunday, there was a service of course, so that we could not go inside to admire the beautiful ceiling. I only caught a small glimpse at it when spying through the door and windows...

Following my tour from Thursday we stopped at Westminster tube station and admired Big Ben and afterward Westminster Abbey. We even found the back entrance to the cloister which was absolutely amazing too!!!

I was thrilled by now, Helen a little tired. And both of our feet were hurting, so we decided for a short break before walking to St James Park and Buckingham Palace. Well, actually, you can walk through the park to the palace. The water was frozen, by the way...

Unnecessary to mention that the fountain in front of Buckingham Palace was much more interesting than the building itself...

Our last stop brought as to the famous Brick Lane....
