After 5 weeks working straight, I decided that it is time for a break and booked the Radisson Hotel & Spa in Cavan for a long weekend. The hotel is beautifully located in the Farnham Estate 3km away from the city and therefore the perfect place to relax...
I took several short and long walks through the woods and along the lake. Especially in the late evening and the early morning, nobody else was wandering around... You could only hear your steps and the wind, the rustling of the leafs, the pounding of the waves and some birds...

Visit from Munich - July 2nd until 5th 2009
We had some busy and wonderful days!
On our first night, we went for a long beach walk (I had to show-off with my private beach close to the house...). The next day (after some sightseeing for her) we met in town for dinner and watched some DVDs later. On Friday we drove to Howth to watch the seals and then we took the boat to Irelands Eye. The weather was terrific and we both got sun-burnt...
We tried to climb into the Martello tower, but... uhhh... it is quite high and difficult, especially for untrained people as we were.
We thought we could at least walk over the hills or surround them, but the grass was jungle-high so that we returned and watched the birds on the cliffs instead.
After having enjoyed the bird orchestra long enough, we returned to the small anchor point. Lying on a small rock and sunbathing, a seal watched us and... it waved to us too!!!
We returned to town for we had two tickets for the famous Abbey theatre, The Reluctant Tyrant. We had front seats... Some of the actors were so close to us that we could have easily touched them...
The very next day we went for shopping on Grafton street, enjoyed a cinnamon bun, returned to the shops, had dinner, hurried to the last shops and then headed home to watch some DVD. Needless to mention that we did not find much, or let's say we would have found a lot more, if we were millionaires...
On our last holiday, we went into town to have breakfast at Avoca's. (Pancake with berries... delicious!!!!) We even managed to walk to Waterstones checking on some books...
The weekend was over too soon!
